Day 59Healing for the Heart

New Things Are Coming

Remember ye not the former things, neither consider the things of old. Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it?

Isaiah 43:18-19

As this journey comes to a close, God extends you a gentle invitation: don't stay living in the things of the past. Looking back brought you this far — you needed to visit the pain in order to heal it. But now a season of looking forward begins. "Behold, I will do a new thing" — God is always working on the new, even when our eyes are still fixed on what was left behind. And He asks with tenderness, "shall ye not know it?" It's as if He were saying: son, daughter, lift up your eyes, there is something good being born that you haven't seen yet because you've only been looking back. You've spent too much time holding on to what is gone. The time is coming to open your hands to what's ahead. Not in a rush, not forgetting what you lived through — but ready to notice the new thing God has already begun. Your life didn't end in the loss. There are new things on the way. Look ahead: they are already coming to light.

Prayer

Lord, help me to let go of the past and to notice the new things You are already doing. Lift up my eyes. I open myself to the new thing that comes from You. Amen.
