Day 46Healing for the Heart

You Were Made to Bloom Again

And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.

Psalm 1:3

In winter, a tree looks dead. No leaves, no flowers, no fruit — anyone unfamiliar with the seasons would swear it's finished. But the tree hasn't died; it's waiting. Its roots are still alive, drawing from hidden water, quietly preparing for the next spring. Maybe you're in a winter like that: on the outside, it looks like nothing will ever bloom in you again. But planted by the spring that is God, your life isn't over — it's remaking itself underneath, in the roots, where no one sees. The fruit comes "in its season," not before. Don't force the spring; just stay planted near the Water. The winters of the soul are real, but they are not eternal. You were made to bear fruit again, to have green leaves again, to bloom again. Your winter is preparing a spring you can't yet imagine.

Prayer

Lord, I feel like I'm in a winter where nothing is blooming. Keep my roots firm in You. I trust that, in Your time, I will bloom again. Amen.
