Day 38Healing for the Heart

Learning to Trust Again

And they that know thy name will put their trust in thee: for thou, LORD, hast not forsaken them that seek thee.

Psalm 9:10

When we're wounded, especially by someone we loved, something breaks inside: the ability to trust. You build walls, you grow suspicious, you're afraid to give yourself again and take another hit. It's natural — a hurting heart protects itself. But there's one trust worth rebuilding first: trust in God. Unlike people, He "has never forsaken those who seek Him." People fail, walk away, disappoint — God doesn't. Maybe you're so afraid of trusting that you've let that distrust spill over onto Him too. Today, take a small step back. You don't have to trust everyone again all at once. Start by trusting the One who never betrayed you and never will. As you relearn to lean on God, He also heals your ability to trust again — in His timing, with wisdom. Trust is rebuilt brick by brick, starting with Him.

Prayer

Lord, my trust has been wounded and I'm afraid to give myself again. Teach me to trust You first, for You never forsake me. Heal my distrustful heart. Amen.
