Day 37 — Healing for the Heart
The Wound Becomes a Scar
“And with his stripes we are healed.”
Isaiah 53:5
There's a difference between a wound and a scar. A wound is open, it bleeds, it hurts to the touch, it needs constant care. A scar still marks the skin, but it no longer bleeds — it's a sign that healing has happened. Maybe you're starting to notice this shift in yourself: what used to knock you down just from remembering it still bothers you, but it doesn't destroy you like before. That's healing happening. It doesn't mean the mark is gone; it means it stopped ruling your life. After His resurrection, Jesus still had the marks on His hands — glorified scars, proof that love overcame the pain. Your scars tell a story too: that you survived, that God healed you. Don't be ashamed of them. A scar isn't a sign that you were weak; it's proof that you healed.
Prayer
Lord, thank You because my wound is becoming a scar. Heal what still hurts and teach me to look at my marks without shame. By Your wounds, I am healed. Amen.
