Day 21 — Healing for the Heart
One Day at a Time
“Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.”
Matthew 6:34
When we're healing, the worst part sometimes isn't today — it's imagining all the tomorrows. "How am I going to bear this for the rest of my life? How will I get through the dates, the years, without...?" The mind projects an endless road of pain, and we collapse just from looking at it. Jesus offers a simple remedy: don't carry tomorrow today. You weren't given grace to live all the days still to come all at once; you were given grace for today. And for tomorrow, there will be tomorrow's grace, right on time. Don't try to cross the whole year of longing in one leap. Cross today. Just today. This morning, this afternoon, this evening. God gives strength in daily doses, because He knows that's how healing happens: not in a jump, but in a step. Breathe. Today is enough.
Prayer
Father, take from me the weight of every tomorrow. Give me strength just for today. I trust that when tomorrow comes, Your grace will already be there. Amen.
