Day 80Strength for Mothers

The Vine and the Children Around the Table

Thy wife shall be as a fruitful vine by the sides of thine house: thy children like olive plants round about thy table.

Psalm 128:3

What a beautiful, simple image: the woman as a vine, the children as olive plants. Trees that bear fruit, that have roots, that grow strong. And all of it gathered around the house, the table, the family.

The table is the center of everything in this verse. Not the stage, not the podium — the table. The place where people sit together, talk, share food and life. Where conflicts sometimes surface and where forgiveness also happens.

You are building something sacred when you insist on gathering your family. When you eat together, when you ask everyone to put their phones down for a moment, when you ask "how was your day" and actually wait for the answer. These moments seem small. They aren't.

Every shared meal is a seed of memory. And your children will grow up remembering that there was a table — and that there was a mother who gathered them around it.

Prayer

Lord, bless our table. May it be a place of gathering, of healing, and of love. May my home be a refuge for my children. Amen.
