Day 79 — Strength for Mothers
Her Children Shall Call Her Blessed
“Her children arise up, and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praiseth her.”
Proverbs 31:28
There's a day you may not even have imagined would come: the day your child, now grown, looks at you and says thank you. Not necessarily in those exact words — maybe with a phone call at just the right moment, with a gesture of care, with the choice to spend Sunday with family.
This verse speaks of a woman whose children "call her blessed." Happy. Blessed. And that doesn't happen by accident — it happens because she poured her life into her children. Because she wasn't perfect, but she was present.
You won't always be appreciated in the moment. Motherhood is full of moments of unintentional ingratitude — because a child doesn't have the maturity to understand what they received until they grow up. But the recognition comes. It usually arrives when they themselves face hardships and remember what they learned at home.
Today, you are planting the recognition that will come tomorrow. Keep going. The day you hear "Mom, thank you" is closer than it seems.
Prayer
Father, give me patience to sow without demanding immediate recognition. May my children one day understand and be grateful for what I received from You to give them. Amen.
