Day 8 — Strength for Mothers
God Sings Over You
“The LORD thy God in the midst of thee is mighty; he will save, he will rejoice over thee with joy; he will rest in his love, he will joy over thee with singing.”
Zephaniah 3:17
Close your eyes for a second. Picture God singing over you. Not an impatient God, annoyed by your mess. Not a God keeping a record of the days you lost your patience or served dinner from a box. A God who delights in you. Who renews His love over you. Who sings.
That's what this passage says. And it's hard to believe on the hardest days, when you feel like you've fallen far short of everything you meant to be as a mother.
But the Bible doesn't say He sings over the perfect mother. It says He sings over you. With all your imperfections, with today's exhaustion, with yesterday's regrets.
You don't need to be better to be loved by Him. You are already loved. Completely, no conditions attached.
Let that truth settle into your heart today. And when everything around you feels too loud, maybe you'll be able to hear — very softly — the song He sings just for you.
Prayer
Lord, it's hard to feel loved like that when I see how imperfect I am. Help me receive Your love without filters. May I rest in Your delight, not in my own merit. Amen.
