Day 6Strength for Mothers

The Child You Prayed For

For this child I prayed; and the LORD hath given me my petition which I asked of him.

1 Samuel 1:27

Hannah knew what it was to cry without a sound. To pray with a heart overflowing while, outside, the world kept moving as usual. She didn't have beautiful words — she had need. And the Lord heard her.

Maybe you've prayed like that for this child too. With a longing so deep it barely fit into words. Or maybe you're praying like that right now — for the child who's growing up, for the one who's far away, for the one going through a season that hurts just to watch. A mother's prayer never expires.

The Lord who heard Hannah hears you too. He doesn't get distracted. He never tires of listening. He doesn't think your requests are excessive or repetitive. Every child you've placed with trembling hands into His — He has kept.

And when the answer is slow to come, or comes different from what you imagined, trust this: the same God who opened Hannah's womb writes stories that go beyond our requests. That's how good He is.

Prayer

Lord, You who hear prayers that have no words, keep listening to my mother's heart. Keep my children, and give me peace as I entrust them to You. Amen.
