Day 5 — Strength for Mothers
The One God Made Glad
“He maketh the barren woman to keep house, and to be a joyful mother of children. Praise ye the LORD.”
Psalm 113:9
There are stories only God writes. The woman who waited for years. The one who prayed without seeing an answer. The one who opened her arms to a child who didn't come from her own womb, but who is as much hers as any other. What God does doesn't follow the human script.
And maybe your story has been like that too. Full of waiting, of tears, of nights asking for something you couldn't yet see. Or maybe it was different — but you know the feeling of depending on God for what's beyond your own hands.
The joy motherhood brings — even mixed with tiredness, with fear, with responsibility — has its origin in that transformation only He can bring about. He settles you into a home. He gives joy. He restores.
Today, look at your child with that in mind. Not what you built — what God gave you as a gift. And let that gratitude renew your strength for one more day.
Prayer
God, thank You for the joy You placed in my life. May I never take for granted what You gave me by grace. May my heart thank You even on the hard days. Amen.
