Day 58 — Strength for Mothers
No More Perfectionism
“The LORD is merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and plenteous in mercy.”
Psalm 103:8
Perfectionism in motherhood is a cruel trap. It promises that if you do everything right, you'll finally feel good. But the bar keeps rising. And you never get there. The God the Scriptures describe is not a perfectionist — He is merciful. He is slow to anger. He is great in mercy. That is the model you're meant to follow — not the flawless mother from the magazines, but the Father who is patient, who endures much before losing His temper, who overflows with kindness. When you let go of perfectionism, you're not lowering the standard. You're trading an impossible, human standard for a divine one: faithful love, constant presence, mercy that renews itself. That is higher than any list of perfectly checked tasks.
Prayer
God, free me from perfectionism. May I stop measuring myself by a standard no one can reach. May I reflect Your mercy and Your patience as I raise my children. Amen.
