Day 53Strength for Mothers

The Imperfect Mother, Loved by God

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

John 3:16

"Whosoever" — that includes you. It includes you on the good day, and also on the day you'd rather forget. It includes you when you're patient and when you lost your temper. It includes you when you're confident and when you doubt everything. God's love doesn't come after you improve. It came first, before any effort of your own. That is the foundation of your identity: you are loved by God. Not because you're a perfect mother — there's no such thing. But because you are His daughter. And when you receive that love, something changes. You begin to treat yourself with more mercy. You begin to forgive yourself faster. You begin to raise your children from a place of abundance, not from the fear of never being enough.

Prayer

Lord, may I truly receive Your love today. Not as a theory, but as an experience. May that love free me from treating myself harshly. May it overflow into everything I do for my children. Amen.
