Day 42 — Strength for Mothers
Praying by Name
“Cease not to cry unto the LORD our God for us.”
1 Samuel 7:8
There is something no other human being can do for your children the way you can: pray for them. By name. For their specific fears. For the dreams only you know about. For the friendship that worries you. For the struggle at school. For the heart that hasn't yet opened to God. When you pray for them, you reach beyond what your own arms can hold. You are asking the God of the universe to take care of what is outside your control. And He listens. He watches over them. He works where you cannot reach. Don't let praying for your children become a formality. Be specific, be persistent, be confident. God never grows tired of hearing a mother cry out for her child. This is one of the prayers that comes closest to the heart of God.
Prayer
Father, I bring my children before You today, one by one, by name. Watch over them where I cannot see. Work in their hearts where my voice cannot reach. I am grateful to be the mother You chose for them. Amen.
