Day 29 — Strength for Mothers
Waters of Rest
“He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.”
Psalm 23:2
The Shepherd leads. You don't arrive at rest on your own — He guides you there.
Sometimes rest doesn't come naturally to a mother. The mind won't shut off. The body stops, but the mind keeps running through the list, the worries, the children. And then the rest that should restore you doesn't.
But the Psalm says God actively guides you to still waters. He knows where they are. He knows what restores a soul that noise has worn out. And He is a guide — not a distant observer waiting for you to arrive on your own.
What place of rest do you need today? It could be physical — a real pause, without guilt. It could be spiritual — a meeting with Him in stillness. It could be relational — a conversation with someone who does you good.
The Shepherd wants to take you there. But you need to follow Him. Let Him guide. Let go of control for a moment. And go to the still waters.
Prayer
Shepherd, guide me to where my soul needs to be. Help me find real rest — and receive it without guilt. You know what restores. I follow You. Amen.
