Day 23Strength for Mothers

The Rest He Promises

And he said, My presence shall go with thee, and I will give thee rest.

Exodus 33:14

God said this to Moses in a moment of crisis. The people had failed, the situation was dire, and Moses carried the weight of an entire nation. And God promised two things: presence and rest.

He didn't promise the absence of trouble. He promised companionship in the midst of it — and a rest that comes from within, not from outward circumstances.

Mom, you don't need to wait for your circumstances to improve before you can rest. The rest God offers isn't the absence of demands — it's the peace that comes from knowing you don't carry it alone.

When you meet with Him — even if it's just five minutes before everyone else wakes up, even if it's a silent prayer while you wash the dishes — you tap into a presence that changes the weight of things. Not because the problems disappear, but because you're no longer carrying them by yourself.

Today, seek that presence. Before the demands, if possible. In the middle of them, if necessary. He promised rest — and He keeps His promises.

Prayer

Lord, let Your presence go with me through every hour of my day. Let me find real rest not in my circumstances, but in You. Thank You for promising to go with me. Amen.
