Day 13Strength for Mothers

She Opens Her Mouth with Wisdom

She openeth her mouth with wisdom; and in her tongue is the law of kindness.

Proverbs 31:26

How many times have you spoken words you later regretted? The voice that rose a notch when it shouldn't have. The criticism that slipped out before the filter caught it. The impatience shaped like a short, cutting sentence.

Every mother knows that feeling. And the guilt that follows right after.

But this verse isn't describing a mother who never fails — it's describing a cultivated trait, a path. Wisdom on the lips isn't a gift you're born with: it's the fruit of a life connected to the Source.

When you spend time with God, something changes in what comes out of you. Patience has more staying power. Kindness finds a way even through exhaustion. Not because you're perfect — but because you're being transformed.

Today, before you speak, you can breathe and ask: Lord, let my words build up. The words you speak to your children stay with them — for good or for ill. May they be marks of love.

Prayer

Lord, guard my mouth. Let me speak with wisdom and kindness, especially when I'm tired. Let my words build up the children You've given me. Amen.
