Day 12 — Strength for Mothers
Grace in the Middle of the Mess
“And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.”
2 Corinthians 12:9
The house wasn't clean. Dinner burned. The child cried at daycare drop-off. And you still felt that sting: you should have had it together.
But what if "having it together" isn't the goal? What if the goal is depending on Him?
Paul asked God to remove what troubled him. God said no — but promised grace enough. And Paul discovered something motherhood can teach you too: it's in weakness that God's power shows up most clearly.
When you have nothing left to give, when you've hit your limit and still need to go further — that's where grace steps in. Not as a reward for having tried hard enough. As a gift. As support that comes from outside yourself.
You don't need to be strong today. You need to let God be strong in you. There's a world of difference between the two — and discovering that can change how you get through your days.
Prayer
God, when I have nothing left to give, be my strength. May Your grace fill the places where I'm empty. Amen.
