Day 11 — Strength for Mothers
An Identity That Cannot Be Lost
“Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations.”
Jeremiah 1:5
Motherhood can swallow up a woman's identity. Little by little, you stop being who you were — the interests, the dreams, the space that was only yours — and become simply "someone's mom." That's not weakness. It's surrender. And it's beautiful.
But God doesn't want you to lose yourself in that surrender.
Before you were a mother, He knew you. Before any child existed, you already had a name before Him. Your identity doesn't begin with motherhood — it begins in the heart of God, who formed you with purpose, called you, set you apart.
You can be fully a mother and still be fully yourself. The two don't compete — they complete each other when you're rooted in Him.
Today, take a moment. Not to be productive. Just to remember who you are beyond the roles you fill. You are a daughter. You are called. You are loved by your name — not by what you produce.
Prayer
Lord, may I not lose myself in what I do. May I remember who I am in You — called, known, loved before anything else. Thank You for seeing me as a person, not just as a role. Amen.
