Day 86 — Marriage Devotional
The Work He Began
“Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ:”
Philippians 1:6
God doesn't start what He doesn't finish. That's true for your life — and for your marriage.
When He joined the two of you together, it wasn't carelessness. It was intention. And that intention continues, even when your marriage has gone through seasons that made you question everything. God hasn't stopped working. The work continues.
"Will perform" is a verb of process. Not instant, not effortless, not without your cooperation. But guaranteed. What God begins, He carries forward. Your marriage is in the hands of a God who doesn't abandon His work.
This isn't an excuse not to put in the effort — it's the foundation for hope even when you don't see immediate results. Sometimes God's work happens beneath the surface, quiet, deep. And one day you look back and realize how far you've come.
Trust His work. It's still in progress.
Prayer
God, thank You for not giving up on the work You began in my marriage. On the days when I don't see progress, help me trust that You are working. Complete what You have started. Amen.
