Day 77Marriage Devotional

Remember, and Give Thanks

Bless the LORD, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name. Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits:

Psalm 103:1-2

Gratitude is a choice. Especially in marriage, where the daily routine can make what's wonderful become invisible. We grow used to the other's presence, to gestures that became habit, to the companionship that once was a source of joy.

Psalm 103 invites us into the opposite of forgetting: remembering. Remembering His benefits. Remembering the good God has done and is still doing. That's true for life, and it's true for marriage.

Today, what if you made a list — even just in your mind — of what you have to be thankful for in your marriage? Not necessarily the big victories. The coffee he makes. The way he cares for the family. The smile only you get to see. The small, daily faithfulness.

Gratitude changes how you see. And a grateful eye finds more beauty in the very same place. Don't ignore the problems — but don't let them blot out what is good.

Prayer

Lord, thank You for my marriage. Help me not to forget Your benefits, nor the beautiful gestures of my spouse. May gratitude renew the way I see what we've built together. Amen.
