Day 64Marriage Devotional

The Good That Comes From Tribulation

And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience;

Romans 5:3

No one asks for tribulation. But when we look back, we often realize that the hardest seasons were the ones that shaped us the most. That's true for marriage too.

That season when you went through financial strain and learned to be true partners. That crisis that forced you to talk in a different way — more honest, more deep. The illness of a family member that drew you closer to God and to each other.

Paul doesn't romanticize suffering — he points to what it produces: patience, character, hope. These fruits don't grow in comfort. They grow under pressure, when you choose to stay, when you decide not to give up.

If you're in a hard season right now, it's difficult to see what comes next. But trust this: God wastes no pain. He is using even this to build something beautiful in you, in your spouse, and in your marriage.

Prayer

Lord, I confess I don't like tribulations. But I trust that You are able to bring something good out of everything that is hard. Give me patience to keep going without giving up, and eyes to see what You are building. Amen.
