Day 39 — Peace in Place of Anxiety
Satisfied in the Morning with His Love
“O satisfy us early with thy mercy; that we may rejoice and be glad all our days.”
Psalm 90:14
There's a hunger of the soul that many people wake up with: the feeling of starting the day already running short, already empty, needing to handle everything with nothing left to draw from. You get up to serve everyone else, but who fills you first? The psalmist knew where to look: "O satisfy us early with thy mercy." Before pouring himself out for others, he asked to be satisfied by God first. It's like a cup that can only overflow once it's already full. When you begin the day by feeding on God's love — remembering that you are loved, cared for, sustained — you move through the hours from a place of fullness, not lack. And look at the promise: being satisfied in the morning produces joy "all our days." The peace you're searching for can begin with a simple act early on: filling your heart with God before the world starts emptying it. Today, before you take care of everyone else, let God take care of you. Drink first from His love. Only the one who has already been filled can overflow.
Prayer
Father, satisfy me in the morning with Your love, before the day empties me out. Fill me with You so I have something to give from. In You my joy is made new. Amen.
