Day 38 — Peace in Place of Anxiety
Start the Morning with Him, Not with Fear
“My voice shalt thou hear in the morning, O LORD; in the morning will I direct my prayer unto thee, and will look up.”
Psalm 5:3
How do your mornings begin? For many anxious people, fear wakes up before the body does. You open your eyes, and before you've even gotten up, your mind has already unloaded the day's whole list of worries. The first thought is already tense, and it sets the tone for every hour that follows. David had a different habit, and it makes all the difference: "in the morning will I direct my prayer unto thee." He handed the day to God before the day started demanding anything back. Think about who you let speak to you first in the morning: if it's anxiety, it sets the soundtrack for the whole day; if it's God, it's His peace that tunes your heart from the very start. It doesn't have to be a whole hour of prayer — it can be one minute, still in bed, before you reach for your phone. A simple "Good morning, Lord; this day is yours, go with me." Today, or first thing tomorrow, try this experiment: let the first voice you hear be God's, not fear's. The morning that begins with Him carries a different weight.
Prayer
Lord, tomorrow, before fear speaks to me, I want to speak to You first. Receive my morning. Tune my heart to Your peace from the moment I wake. Amen.
