Day 19Peace in Place of Anxiety

He Already Knows Tomorrow

For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.

Jeremiah 29:11

The root of almost all anxiety is one and the same: the tomorrow you cannot see. You want to see the end of the road — to know it will work out, that he'll be all right, that the bills will balance. And because you can't see it, your mind fills the empty space with fear. But look at what God says: He knows well the thoughts He thinks toward you. When you don't know, He knows. And His thoughts toward you are of peace, not of evil. This doesn't mean every day will be easy; it means nothing will be wasted and that the destination He is leading you to is good. You don't need to see the end — you need to trust the One who has already arrived there. Imagine the relief of knowing that there is Someone who knows your entire tomorrow, and that this Someone loves you. The future that frightens you is already the present to God, and He has already walked it with you. Today, hand tomorrow over to the One who already lives there.

Prayer

Father, I cannot see tomorrow, but You already know it all. I trust that Your plans for me are plans of peace. I place my future in Your hands. Amen.
