Day 14The Proverbs 31 Woman

Unafraid of Tomorrow

Strength and honour are her clothing; and she shall rejoice in time to come.

Proverbs 31:25

Look back at the end of that verse about strength and dignity: she "shall rejoice in time to come." Not because tomorrow holds no hardship — it does — but because she isn't afraid of it. What kind of peace is that? It's the peace of someone who has handed the future over to God. A woman of faith can smile at the unknown because she knows she doesn't walk into it alone. Anxiety promises that if you worry hard enough, you'll control what's coming; but that's a lie that only steals your today. You don't have to carry, in advance, the weight of tomorrows that may never even arrive. God is already in your future, just as He is in your present. Today, instead of fearing what hasn't come yet, surrender it. Whoever trusts the Father learns to laugh at tomorrow — not with recklessness, but with the serenity of someone held in good hands.

Prayer

Father, I give You my tomorrow. Take from me the anxiety of what hasn't yet arrived, and give me Your peace today. Teach me to smile at the future, because You are already there waiting for me. Amen.
