Day 57Young Woman of Faith

Peace That Overcomes the World

These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.

John 16:33

Jesus didn't promise a life without trouble. He promised peace in the middle of it. There's a huge difference between the two. One promise removes the problem; the other gives you what you need to get through it.

"Be of good cheer" — that phrase can feel almost impossible when you're at rock bottom. When the situation is real, heavy, painful. But the foundation of good cheer isn't ignorance of the problem. It's the knowledge of Who has already overcome.

He has overcome the world. That includes whatever is troubling you. It includes the difficult relationship, the fear of the future, the pressure that never lets up, whatever is keeping you up at night. Not because it will automatically disappear — but because the One who is with you is greater than all of it.

The peace He offers isn't the absence of feeling. It's an anchor that holds when everything is shaking. And that anchor doesn't give way — because that anchor is Him.

Prayer

Jesus, thank You for overcoming what frightens me. May Your peace be real in me today — not as an escape from reality, but as an anchor within it. Amen.
