Day 41Young Woman of Faith

Two Directions

Can two walk together, except they be agreed?

Amos 3:3

Before any long journey, it's important to know: are you and the other person heading to the same place? Because two people can walk side by side for a while and, after some time, discover their destinations are completely different.

In love, in friendship, in the partnerships you choose — direction matters. It doesn't need to be identical in everything. But there needs to be agreement about what matters most: what you value, what you fear, what defines you.

A relationship where the core values are opposite will demand more of you than love. It will demand that you split yourself in two. And God didn't create you to be divided — He created you to be whole.

I'm not saying people can't be different. I'm talking about what carries the most weight: the direction you're both heading. When that direction is similar — when you walk the same way, moved by the same faith — the journey is so much more beautiful.

Prayer

Father, may I be wise in choosing who walks with me. May I not join myself to someone out of haste or loneliness, but out of discernment and peace. Guide my steps. Amen.
