Day 22Young Woman of Faith

The Step You Don't Have to Take Alone

For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.

Philippians 2:13

One of the biggest traps for anyone seeking purpose is believing that everything depends on your own strength. That if you don't try hard enough, aren't determined enough, don't have enough energy, you'll miss out on what God has for you.

But Paul says something liberating: it is God who works in you both to will and to do. Not just the doing — even the desire to do good comes from Him. He plants the will in your heart, and He sustains the doing.

This doesn't excuse you from acting, from trying, from making decisions. But it takes off you the crushing weight of feeling like it's all on your own shoulders. God is working in you, from the inside — shaping your heart, giving you strength, moving what needs to be moved.

You're not the heroine who has to save her own life. You're the daughter who relies on her Father for everything. And that is more than enough.

Prayer

Lord, sometimes I feel exhausted from trying to do everything on my own. Thank You for reminding me that it's You who works in me. May I cooperate with Your work instead of fighting against it. Amen.
