Day 2 — Young Woman of Faith
God Sees What No One Else Sees
“But the LORD said unto Samuel, Look not on his countenance, or on the height of his stature; because I have refused him: for the LORD seeth not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the LORD looketh on the heart.”
1 Samuel 16:7
Do you know that feeling of sensing that people only value what shows on the surface? The grade, the look, the popularity, the followers? You know that closely. The world has a very short ruler for measuring people — and it almost always measures what's visible.
But God doesn't use that ruler.
When Samuel went to choose the king of Israel, he looked at the tallest, most handsome, most impressive men. God stopped everything and said: that's not how I see. And He chose David — the youngest, the one tending the animals, the one no one had even invited to the feast.
That says a lot about how God sees you. He isn't interested in the edited version you post online. He sees what you hide: the pain, the effort, the faith you try to hold onto even when no one notices, the love you give without getting credit.
That whole heart — He sees it. And that is exactly the heart He loves.
Prayer
Father, sometimes I feel invisible because I'm not what the world values. Thank You for reminding me that Your eyes see what no one else sees. Take care of my heart, and help me take care of it too. Amen.
