The Peace the World Cannot Give

The world offers a peace that depends on everything going right: bills paid, children doing well, health in order. It's a fragile peace, gone at the first problem. Jesus' peace is of a different kind. It doesn't wait for the sea to calm before arriving — it comes in the middle of the storm. You can have unresolved issues and still sleep in peace, because this peace doesn't come from circumstances, but from Him. Tonight, don't wait for everything to be settled before you rest. Receive the peace Jesus has already given you, freely, which no one can take away. Close your eyes with it: not the peace of no problems, but the peace of God's presence.
