Day 6 — Goodnight, Lord
Come Rest Your Soul
“Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.”
Matthew 11:28
There's a tiredness that sleep can fix, and another that it can't reach — the exhaustion of carrying everyone, fixing everything, holding it all together all day long. For that kind, Jesus offers an invitation so simple it's easy to miss: come. He doesn't say "get yourself together first" or "stay strong a little longer." He says: come as you are, tired, and rest. You don't have to arrive before Him with your soul in order. You can come exhausted, however the day left you. Tonight, before you try to sleep with just your body, let your soul rest too. Place in His arms the weight you keep insisting on carrying. There's a relief waiting for you that no pillow can give.
Prayer
Jesus, I come tired, just as I am. Ease my soul, not just my body. I rest in You tonight and let go of the weight I carried all day. Amen.
