Day 5Goodnight, Lord

Gratitude for the End of the Day

In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.

1 Thessalonians 5:18

Before sleep, it's worth looking back with eyes of gratitude. Not to judge the day, but to see God in it. There was breakfast, a roof overhead, someone who cared about you, a strength that showed up right on time. Even a hard day held hidden mercies. Giving thanks at night changes the color of what remains: instead of drifting off counting what was missing, you drift off recognizing what God gave. Gratitude is a sweet way to end the day — it calms the heart and prepares it for rest. Before you turn off the light, say a sincere thank you. The day may not have been perfect, but it was full of care.

Prayer

Lord, thank You for this day, from beginning to end. For what I saw and what I never even noticed, I thank You. I sleep grateful, knowing I was held. Amen.
