Day 37 — Goodnight, Lord
The peace that surpasses understanding
“And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.”
Philippians 4:7
There's a peace that doesn't make sense — and that's exactly the peace God offers. Not the logical kind, which only arrives when the numbers add up and the problems disappear, but a peace that surpasses understanding, one you feel even without being able to explain why. It doesn't wait for circumstances to improve; it guards your heart in the midst of them. At night, when reason insists on listing everything that's wrong, ask for this peace. It acts like a guard, protecting your heart and mind from the invasion of anxiety. Tonight, don't try to understand first and rest later. Receive God's peace before the answers come. Let it stand guard while you sleep. It doesn't need to make sense — it just needs to be received.
Prayer
Father, give me Your peace, the kind I don't understand but can feel. May it guard my heart and my mind tonight. I rest, protected by it. Amen.
