Day 35 — Goodnight, Lord
The Most Cared-For Night in the World
“Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.”
Psalm 23:4
There are nights that feel like a dark valley — the kind where fear grows bigger than faith. Maybe tonight is one of those for you. But notice: the psalm doesn't promise the valley doesn't exist; it promises company inside it. "You are with me." It isn't the absence of darkness that takes away fear, but the presence of God within it. You can walk through the valley without fear, not because you're brave, but because you're not walking it alone. The Shepherd walks beside you, from start to finish, and does not let go of you in the dark. Tonight, even if the night feels heavy, hand your fear to the One who is with you. Sleep knowing that, however shadowed the valley looks, you cross it hand in hand with God.
Prayer
Father, even in the dark valley, You are with me. Take away my fear and give me Your company. I walk through this night without fear, for You do not leave me alone. Amen.
