Day 32Goodnight, Lord

He Calms the Storm

And he arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm.

Mark 4:39

Maybe your mind feels like a churning sea tonight, tossed from one anxious thought to another. Remember who is in the boat with you. The same Jesus who, with three words, made the wind stop and the sea grow calm, has power over the storm inside you. He isn't frightened by the size of the waves. Tonight, hand Him whatever is churning in your chest and ask: "Lord, calm this in me." You don't need to tame the storm by your own strength; you need to call on the One who commands it. Little by little, the calm comes — not necessarily because the problem vanished, but because the One who controls it is with you. Rest: the Voice that quieted the sea can quiet your heart now.

Prayer

Jesus, my heart is troubled, but You command the storm. Say to what afflicts me: "Peace, be still." Bring calm to my chest and give me rest. Amen.
