Gratitude for the Lord's Goodness

At the end of the day, it's worth remembering a simple, steady truth: God is good. Not good sometimes, depending on how the day went — good always, with a goodness that has no expiration date. Even when life closes in, His goodness still stands, and it endures forever. Falling asleep remembering that changes everything. Instead of closing your eyes focused on what went wrong, you close them trusting the One who is good all the time. God's goodness never depended on your performance today, and it won't run out tomorrow. Before you sleep, give thanks for that. Rest your heart in the most comforting certainty there is: the God who cares for you is good, and His goodness will never end.
