The Presence That Brings Rest

Notice that God links two things together: His presence and your rest. It isn't the absence of problems that brings you peace — it's God's company in the middle of them. That's why you can rest even with things still unresolved: because you're not alone in facing them. The same presence that walked with you today, step by step, walks with you to your bed and stays there while you sleep. You have not been left behind, you are not without help. Tonight, before you close your eyes, remember that God isn't going anywhere. He is here, in this room, in this silence. And wherever His presence is, there is rest. Lean on that companionship and sleep: you don't cross the night alone.
