The Night Is Not Forever

Some nights weigh heavier than others. Maybe tonight you're lying down with a tight chest, with tears that didn't ask permission. Don't try to pretend it doesn't hurt. But hold this promise close to your heart: the night has an end. Today's weeping doesn't get the final word over your life. God is preparing a morning, and with it a joy you still can't make out in the dark. Cry if you need to — God gathers every tear — and then rest, knowing He's already working on the turnaround. You won't weep forever. The same hand that holds you tonight will welcome you in the morning. Sleep trusting that God's dawn is on its way.
