Day 11Goodnight, Lord

God Cares for You While You Sleep

It is vain for you to rise up early, to sit up late, to eat the bread of sorrows: for so he giveth his beloved sleep.

Psalm 127:2

Some people believe that if they rest, everything will fall apart. So they stay up all night worrying, get ahead of the next day, "eat the bread of sorrows" before the sun even rises. But the Word reveals a beautiful secret: God works for His beloved while they sleep. Your rest doesn't hold life back — it entrusts life to the One who never stops. You don't have to hold everything up by the strength of your own watching. You can let go, sleep, and wake up to discover that God took care of what you couldn't even reach. Tonight, don't trade your sleep for the illusion of control. Resting is an act of faith: it's saying, "Lord, I trust that while I sleep, You are still in command."

Prayer

Lord, I stop trying to hold it all together. I rest, trusting that You care for me while I sleep. Work on my behalf tonight, because on my own I can't manage it all. Amen.
