A Love That Never Leaves

In the silence of the night, sometimes that voice comes, asking whether you're really loved — after everything you did and didn't do today. Let the Word silence that voice. God's love for you isn't the size of your day. It doesn't grow when you get it right, and it doesn't shrink when you fail. It is everlasting: it existed before you were born and will remain when today is nothing but a memory. You can lie down exactly as you are — tired, imperfect, real — and still be deeply loved. This love was never earned by you, and so it can never be lost. Sleep cradled in it: you are cherished by a Father who has loved you always and will love you forever.
