Day 86Closer to God — 365 Days

When You Want to Control Everything

Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.

Proverbs 3:5

The need to control is one of the deepest roots of anxiety. If I control everything, nothing bad happens. If I plan every detail, I protect myself. If I anticipate every scenario, I can be prepared.

But God says the opposite: trust in Me with your whole heart, not in your own understanding. Human understanding, no matter how intelligent, has limits. It cannot see the future. It doesn't know God's ways. It doesn't know what's being woven behind the scenes.

When you trust Him with your whole heart — not 50%, not only when it makes sense — you make room for Him to work in ways you wouldn't know how to ask for.

Letting go of control isn't passivity. It's a courageous act of faith. It's saying: "I don't know everything. But I trust the One who does."

Prayer

Lord, it's hard to let go of control. My hand wants to hold onto everything. Help me open my hand and trust that You hold what I release. Amen.
