Day 87Closer to God — 365 Days

The Peace That Watches Over His Own

For the eyes of the Lord are over the righteous, and his ears are open unto their prayers:

1 Peter 3:12a

This is for when you feel invisible. For when you pray and feel like your words just hit the ceiling. For when life seems to be happening all around you without anyone noticing you're there.

His eyes are on you. Watching closely. Not in passing. Not occasionally. On you. His ears, attentive to your prayers — in the original Hebrew of Psalm 34, which Peter quoted, it's the image of someone leaning their head in so as not to miss a single word.

God bends down to hear you. That changes everything.

Anxiety convinces us that we're alone, that no one is watching, that our prayers don't reach anywhere. But the Word says the opposite. And it's far more trustworthy than what anxiety tells us.

You are being seen. You are being heard. Right now.

Prayer

God, thank You for seeing me. On the days I feel invisible, remind me that Your eyes are on me. My prayer reaches Your ears. Amen.
