Day 78Closer to God — 365 Days

Breathing Deep with God

The LORD will give strength unto his people; the LORD will bless his people with peace.

Psalm 29:11

Have you noticed how anxiety even changes your breathing? When we're anxious, we breathe shallow, quick, up in the chest. The body tenses up. It feels like there isn't enough air.

And God offers strength and peace — the two things anxiety steals. Strength to keep going. Peace so you don't spiral into panic. Both come from Him, not from favorable circumstances.

"His people" — you are included. Not because you earned it, but because you belong to Him. The blessing is for His people, and you are part of them.

Sometimes healing starts in the body itself: breathing slowly, becoming aware of your own body, remembering that God is here, now, in this very moment. Not only during your morning devotional — here, at three in the afternoon, in the middle of stress, in the grocery store, in traffic. He is here. And His presence is strength.

Prayer

God, give me strength today. Give me peace I can feel in my body, not just in my head. I remember that I am Yours, and You take care of what belongs to You. Amen.
