Day 66Closer to God — 365 Days

When the Ache Inside Runs Deep

In the multitude of my thoughts within me thy comforts delight my soul.

Psalm 94:19

There are days when the thoughts won't stop. One thought pulls another, which pulls another, and suddenly you're drowning in a spiral that started with something small and ended in catastrophe. Do you know that feeling?

The psalmist knew it. And he was honest with God about it — "my thoughts multiplied within me." It wasn't weakness. It was being human. And in the middle of that inner turmoil, something happened: God's comforts arrived.

The word "comforts" in Hebrew carries the sense of a relieved sigh — that "ah" when someone hugs you at just the right moment. God knows how to do that on the inside. He steps into your turbulent mind and brings a warmth, a reminder that He's there, a Scripture you didn't even know you had memorized.

You don't have to sort out every thought before drawing near to God. Come to Him with all the confusion. He delights the soul — even the most troubled one.

Prayer

Father, my mind is full today. Step into this confusion and bring Your comforts. Only You know what my soul needs. Amen.
