Day 65Closer to God — 365 Days

Mind Fixed, Heart Steady

Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.

Isaiah 26:3

There is a direct link between where you fix your mind and the level of peace you feel. It's not magic — it's God's design at work. When the mind keeps circling the problems, anxiety grows. When the mind fixes on Him, peace appears.

"Stayed" carries the idea of a stake driven into the ground. It doesn't sway with the wind. It doesn't shift with the news or with what people say. It's anchored in something that never moves — the character of God.

And look at this beautiful promise: He keeps you. It's His job to maintain the peace inside you. Your part is to fix your mind. His part is to keep it steady. You don't have to manufacture peace inside yourself by sheer willpower — that would be exhausting. You just need to look to Him. He takes care of the rest.

Today, when your mind wants to race to the worst-case scenario, bring it back. "My mind is stayed on You."

Prayer

Lord, when my thoughts scatter, remind me to come back. Fix my mind on You today, and keep in me the peace that only You can give. Amen.
