Day 6 — Closer to God — 365 Days
When Your Strength Runs Out
“But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.”
Isaiah 40:31
There are days when you don't even have the energy to wait. The exhaustion runs so deep that it's hard even to pray. Your heart wants to, but your body and mind seem to have decided to stop.
If that's where you are right now, this word is for you.
Isaiah's promise isn't for those at the peak of their energy. It's for those at the bottom of the pit. "Those who wait" — and to wait, in Hebrew, carries the idea of twisting a thread, tightening it, holding on firmly. It's an active waiting, a trust that doesn't let go of the rope even in the dark.
You don't have to feel strong for this kind of waiting. You just need to hold on to Him. And while you do — even trembling, even exhausted — He renews you. Not like a fleeting burst of energy, but like wings that sustain a flight you could never manage on your own.
He will give you breath for the next step. And then the next.
Prayer
Lord, I am weary and I need You. Renew my strength today. May my waiting on You be real, even when I feel nothing at all. Amen.
