Day 58 — Closer to God — 365 Days
Surrender That Sets You Free
“Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time:”
1 Peter 5:6
Humbling yourself under the hand of God seems to be the opposite of what our culture teaches. The message from every direction is: take control, be the hero, don't depend on anyone. But with God, the logic is different. Whoever humbles themselves is the one who is lifted up. Whoever surrenders is the one who is exalted.
That surrender is not defeat. It's one of the most courageous ways to live. It's recognizing that your life is in hands infinitely more capable than your own, and that the best position you can occupy is under His protection and His rule.
And there is a promise built into it: in due time, He will exalt you. Not necessarily the way the world exalts — but in His way, in His time, in a manner that will be exactly what you needed. Whoever surrenders to God never comes out with less. They come out with more than they ever imagined.
Prayer
Father, I humble myself before You today. I let go of control over my life and place myself under Your hands. May Your timing be my timing, and may Your will be my will. Amen.
