Day 51Closer to God — 365 Days

When the Answer Doesn't Come Quickly

Wait on the LORD: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the LORD.

Psalm 27:14

Waiting is hard. The culture we live in treats waiting as a problem to be solved — everything has to be fast, instant, without delay. And then a situation comes along that simply cannot be rushed, and you don't know what to do with all that empty time.

God says: wait. Not as punishment, not as abandonment — as instruction for someone He loves. Waiting is a classroom. It shapes things inside you that an instant answer never could: patience, depth, real dependence.

"He shall strengthen thine heart" — that happens during the waiting, not after it. The strengthening comes while you wait, not as a reward for having waited. So today, if you're waiting for something that seems like it will never arrive, know that this time isn't empty. God is at work — in you, and in everything that concerns you.

Prayer

Lord, teach me to wait without losing hope. Strengthen my heart in this season of waiting. May my waiting not be passive, but full of faith in You. Amen.
