Day 46Closer to God — 365 Days

Resting in His Sovereignty

Blessed is that man that maketh the LORD his trust, and respecteth not the proud, nor such as turn aside to lies.

Psalm 40:4

There is a blessing reserved for those who choose to trust. Not for those who never doubted — for those who, even in the midst of doubt, chose the Lord as their anchor. That choice isn't automatic. It's daily, sometimes difficult, always valid.

Trusting in God's sovereignty means believing that He is in control even when you are not. That the story hasn't gone off the rails just because it left your rails. That what looks like chaos to you is already ordered in His sight.

This trust doesn't make you passive. It makes you able to act without panic, to wait without despairing, to pray without anxiety. Because you know in whom you trust. And whoever trusts in Him finds a kind of peace that doesn't depend on circumstances changing — it depends on the heart remembering who is in command.

Prayer

Lord, I choose to trust You today. May my heart rest in Your sovereignty, and may I find the blessing of walking with the peace of one who knows in whom she believes. Amen.
