Day 42Closer to God — 365 Days

He Makes All Things Work Together

And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God.

Romans 8:28

"All things" is a bold phrase. Not just the good things. Not just the easy ones. All things. The loss, the disappointment, the difficult diagnosis, the relationship that didn't work out, the plan that fell apart. All of it, in God's hands, can be used for the good of those who love Him.

That doesn't mean everything is good. God doesn't call pain good. He says He uses everything — including the pain — for a purpose that is good. There's an important difference there. You don't have to pretend that what was hard was actually easy. But you can trust that it wasn't wasted.

When you look at your life and see pieces that don't make sense, remember: God is a master at making a mosaic out of what looked like broken pieces. He gathers what seemed scattered, and the result is something only He could create. Trusting this in the middle of pain is one of the deepest acts of faith there is.

Prayer

God, I don't understand everything that has happened to me. But I choose to trust that in Your hands, nothing has been wasted. Use every part of my story for the good that only You know. Amen.
